GALA is a weekly magazine published by Gruner + Jahr. The magazine’s main content is stories about celebrities and royal families. Its paid circulation is 151,766 copies, down 49.8 percent since 1998.
The magazine was launched by Gruner + Jahr in France in 1993. The German edition was first published on April 13, 1994. In 2006, the offshoot GALA Style was launched and in 2009 the offshoot GALA Men.
The magazine is produced by the Brigitte editorial team, which works closely with the editorial team of the RTL program Exclusiv – Das Starmagazin.
